Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops by Jen Campbell

Published in 2012 by Constable and Robinson
ISBN: 9781780334837

Rating: 4 Stars

This was a lovely volume to giggle over. The silly-but-harmless customer is both the bane and the delight of the bookstore clerk.  The swapping of stories is a popular activity at bookfair social events.

And, perforce, there was story that made me want to weep.

Customer: Have you read every single book in here?
Bookseller: No, I can’t say I have.
Customer: Well you’re not very good at your job, are you?

But…but…can’t you see how hard I’m trying?
